  • Start your day at the Mount of Olives with a spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem. The holy city for each of the world’s three great religions – Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Jerusalem occupies a unique place in the world.
  • Begin your walking Tour of the Old City through through one of the main gates from ancient times. 
  • Experience Mount Zion and the ancient Cardo, an integral component of city planning lined with shops and vendors that served as a hub of economic life. 
  • Visit the Western Wall – the holiest Jewish site and actual site of the Second Temple, the Temple Mount
  • Walk the way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa to Calvary
  • See the church of the Holy Sepulcher housing both the traditional site of the Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection and its station including Golgotha – the crucifixion site.  
  • On to Bethlehem and Manger Square to visit the church of Nativity, where Jesus was born .

Description

Pick up at your hotel for a fascinating tour of the holy city of Jerusalem. We will start with a great panoramic view of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, pointing out the important sites with a short explanation about the city’s past and present. Continue for a walking tour of the Old City. We will enter the old walled city on foot through one of the main gates from ancient times. The tour includes visits to Mount Zion and the ancient Cardo, an integral component of city planning lined with shops and vendors that served as a hub of economic life. We will pass the Stations of the Cross on the way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, incorporating both the Calvary and the Resurrection Tombs. We will stop at the Western (Wailing) Wall, a section of the wall supporting wall of the Temple Mount that has remained intact since the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD.

On to Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity- known as the birth place of Jesus – this town has one of the oldest Christian communities in the world and sits just south of Jerusalem. There we will visit the Church of the Nativity, Manger Square and enjoy panoramic view of the Shepherd’s Field.
