Pick up at your hotel, drive south through the Jordan Valley. You will enjoy some stunning views of the Judean Desert as you descend into the lowest place on the planet; the Dead Sea at almost 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level.
We will drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. There we will ascend by cable car to Mount Masada, the 2000 year old Jewish Fortress at the exact location of the Jewish revolt against the Romans. We will visit King Herod’s Palace, the Cistern, and the old synagogue. Also, you will witness the ancient fortresses where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 AD. as well as the breaching point where the Romans built a ramp to finally conquer Masada but they were no prisoners or slaves to be taken. So goes the infamous story of Mount Masada.
We will continue along the shores of the Dead Sea to Ein Gedi Spa to enjoy the therapeutic qualities of the rich mineral hot springs and Dead Sea mud as well as the unique experience of floating on the rich mineral water of the sea itself.
You may have been to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but we guarantee you’ve never experienced the sensation of floating in the mineral rich Dead Sea, where the natural salinity of the water makes it impossible to sink. It also makes it impossible for anything to live hence the name.
